As more and more people drop prescription drugs for medical cannabis, reports like this explain why Big Pharma is scrambling to keep prohibition in place. It also explains why the DEA has such close ties to the pharmaceutical industry.
The question of why cannabis remains illegal becomes more unavoidable by the day, as scientific evidence mounts for its medicinal powers and states continue to decriminalize the plant. The legal drugs of alcohol and nicotine kill hundreds of thousands every year and have little to no medical value – but the ingestion of cannabis kills no one, and heals many…
“Through stripping away this outer layer of skin, this one millimeter that encases us all, we are all the same inside.”
One millimeter of skin. That’s all that is preventing world peace – or, at least, that is how it would seem. Sometimes, it seems incomprehensible that even in 2017, humans wage war on each other based on the amount of melanin in one’s skin. It’s for this reason that artists Marcus Byrne and Alex Wadelton collaborated to create the project “One Millimeter”…

Having lived in a variety of cultures and regions around the world over the years, I find the differences compared to the United States quite fascinating. Some have an orientation that borders on brilliance, others leave me scratching my head wondering, “Now why would they do that?”
One country in particular stands out in my mind as inspiring on many levels: the Republic of Georgia. Granted, there were aspects that were difficult, but at the end of the day, what truly impressed me was the sheer intelligence of the people. I found Georgians generally to be some seriously sharp people, to the point where I began to feel a bit slow in comparison.
While their education is certainly more rigorous than what you usually find in the United States, I began to suspect something else was at play with their level of intelligence — beyond genetics or cultural leanings. Then one day I was chatting with my friend Tornike about how Georgian produce was the best I’ve ever tasted, anywhere. It was a far-cry from anything I’ve found in North America, even at organic farmer’s markets. Tornike pointed out that everything was grown “traditionally” — meaning no pesticides, chemicals or GMOs. It was also only of heirloom stock and grown within a few miles of our town, Batumi. Healthy soil rich with compost was the norm. And while their water supply is disinfected with chlorine, they do not add fluoride…

“In my 30 years as a self-improvement coach, the most important insight is that where you put your attention is where your energy goes.
If you find that hard to believe, try this: Walk through a crowd. Put your attention on the people. Then walk through the same crowd again and put your attention on the gaps between the people.
More of them will now make way. Try it. It never fails. Here’s another experiment: Stand at the corner of any city street and look upwards for a while. You will notice people around you also look upwards.
They want to know what you are looking at, and for that brief period you determined the direction of their attention…
“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” ~ J. Krishnamurti
Society is directed by a never-ending mainstream narrative which is always evolving, and always reaching new dramatic peaks in sensationalism and hype. They fill your mind with topics they select, they keep your attention on these topics, and they invite and encourage you to argue amongst each other about these topics. In this way our collective attention is permanently commandeered, preventing us from diving too deeply into matters which have more than a superficial impact on day-today life.
Free-thinking is the ability and willingness to explore of ideas and areas of the mind which are yet undiscovered or are off-limits. It is a vanishing art that is deliberately being stamped out by a control system which demands conformity, acquiescence and obedience of body, mind, and spirit.
For your consideration, here are three questions you’re not supposed to ask about life in our profoundly sick society.
