A leaked audio recording of an oil company lobbyist bragging about criminalizing pipeline protests has exposed the industry’s influence over lawmakers.
(CD) As a growing number of states move to pass laws that would criminalize pipeline protests and hit demonstrators with years in prison, an audio recording obtained by The Intercept showed a representative of a powerful oil and gas lobbying group bragging about the industry’s success in crafting anti-protest legislation behind closed doors.

The fight to protect land, homes, livelihoods, and wildlife from destructive, pollution-causing industries turned deadly for more than 160 environmental defenders in 2018, international human rights group Global Witness revealed Monday night in a new report.
Organizers campaigning against the destruction of the environment face governments, contract killers, and private security firms trying to stop them—sometimes working together. In total, 164 people were murdered last year while fighting such forces as the mining, logging, and agribusiness industries from taking over swathes of ancestral lands, communities, and natural habitats.

The Telecom Industry has admitted they have no scientific evidence that 5G wireless is biologically safe and plenty of researchers say it isn’t (see 1, 2). Unfortunately, it’s still being promoted, installed, and unleashed in the U.S. and around the world despite widespread growing opposition.

The telecom industry has provided NO scientific evidence that 5G is safe and plenty of research has proven it isn’t (see 1, 2). Doctors, elected officials, environmentalists, security experts, the U.S. Navy, utility companies and more have been trying to stop 5G deployment for a variety of compelling reasons. Few people are subscribing to it where it’s already been installed and users are complaining that 5G is making their phones and modems overheat. Regardless, telecom companies and proponents continue to promote and install it wherever they can – above ground and below.
