Raids across Los Angeles see pedophilia network taken down with 39 arrests
A major child trafficking bust in Los Angeles has seen 39 pedophiles arrested from a Hollywood pedophilia ring, with one child rescued.
Authorities have confirmed they have made a huge dent in human trafficking network in Los Angeles with police raids resulting in dozens of arrests and a 13-year-old girl being rescued from an address in Compton.
The sweeping busts were undertaken in a joint effort between the Sheriff’s Department and a special child trafficking task force.
Although the raids were the result of a months-long investigation, authorities said that the recent spotlight that has been shone on Hollywood’s sexual misconduct and child abuse epidemic has added increased pressure to their cases.
The media attention on elite pedophile ring in the entertainment industry has given law enforcement much needed public support on an “unprecedented” level, according to investigators.
Sixteen additional females were arrested on suspicion of loitering for the purposes of prostitution, authorities said.
Seventeen of those arrested were men who solicited undercover deputies for various sex acts, authorities said.
Officers confirmed that intel gathered during the investigation will lead to more arrests “higher-up in the food chain” coming soon.
