When a federal judge ordered the release of Chelsea Manning from prison on March 12th, the news was met with relatively little fanfare. There was a kind of muted, matter-of-factness about it in the mainstream press, with much of the print devoted to procedural aspects of the release, or the fact that Ms. Manning allegedly tried to kill herself the day before, based on her lawyers’ testimony. →

(Prepare For Change There is no reason for the Pentagon to be depressed, despondent, or angry over the fact that Iraqi officials are kicking the Pentagon out of Iraq. The Pentagon doesn’t belong in Iraq in the first place.
First, it’s important to keep in mind that ever since the Pentagon and the rest of the U.S. national-security establishment lost their official Cold War enemy, the Soviet Union, with the end of the Cold War in 1989, Iraq never invaded the United States or even threatened to do so. In the 30 years that the Pentagon has been killing people and wreaking destruction in Iraq, it has always been the Pentagon that has been the aggressor and Iraq the defender. →

Iraq: US Faked Embassy Rocket Attack, a ‘false flag’
TEHRAN (FNA)- Spokesman of the politburo of Asa’eb Ahl al-Haq (one of the Iraqi popular forces) Mahmoud al-Rabiei said that the recent rocket attack on the US embassy in Baghdad was a theatrical move orchestrated by Washington.
“The US knows who has attacked its embassy with rockets and putting the blame on the Iraqi resistance groups is a part of the US media game,” al-Rabiei was quoted as saying by the Arabic-language al-Ma’aloumeh news website on Tuesday.
He added that the attack was launched from Arab Jabour district in Baghdad, where no resistance forces are deployed.
“The US orchestrates a theatrical blow to itself to blame the resistance forces,” al-Rabiei said. →

(The Free Thought Project) Despite the establishment telling Americans otherwise, the United States is marching directly into a major conflict with Iran that could have catastrophic implications. The two-party paradigm’s grip on Trump supporters has them shifting from previously supporting Trump’s anti-intervention stance on which he campaigned, into full on support for a senseless and dangerous war. This is the exact same scenario that unfolded with Obama when he turned the antiwar Left into pro-war interventionists. If you stand against this escalation, according to the establishment, you are anti-America. But in reality, you’re just smart. →

(Prepare of Change) Most Americans did not know Qasem Soleimani until the Israelis found the perfect opportunity to have him assassinated. They gave the Pentagon the orders and kindly handed Donald Trump all the credit while he ate his ice cream and watched it on TV.
So far, Trump’s post-hoc rational for murdering the most important military official in Iran is that the protesters who want America out of Iraq after 17 years of occupation did some minor structural damage to the US embassy in Baghdad. The man who was elected in part specifically to keep us out of foreign wars tried to stifle the outcry by posting a low-res image of the American flag for Kanye West and Morton Klein to cyber-salute. So far, only paid minions are cheering this escalation. →
