(The Free Thought Project) Lake Geneva, WI — To those who have been paying attention over the last couple of months, the mainstream media’s coverage of the pandemic has been unethical, inconsistent, divisive, and in some instances outright false. The media has gone from telling Americans not to wear masks to shaming them for not wearing masks. Not surprisingly, their impetus behind this mask shaming is utterly hypocritical, as the following video shows us.
An MSNBC correspondent attempting to shame people on the streets of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for not wearing masks was called out by a passerby and left speechless as his hypocrisy was exposed. →

(Collective Evolution) A lot of people are wondering what’s really going on out there, and the appearance of a digital authoritarian Orwellian”fact-checker” that’s patrolling the internet has only sparked more curiosity. When it comes to the new coronavirus, it’s simply another case of mainstream media rhetoric that completely contradicts testimony and evidence that’s being shared by multiple scientists, doctors, politicians and activists around the world.
Furthermore, when information that opposes the mainstream narrative goes “viral” it is either heavily censored or deleted. What is going on here? Should the people not have the right to examine information and sources to determine for themselves what is real and what is not instead of having someone else determine truth for them? →

The World Health Organization (WHO) has been making headlines lately, and that’s due to the fact that the world is dealing with COVID-19. It’s also in large part due to the fact that that President Donald Trump recently halted all funding to the WHO from the US. He accused the organization of “severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus.” This implies, in my opinion, that they were covering up the spread based on the fact they (the WHO) would somehow profit, financially and politically from the pandemic. →

When a federal judge ordered the release of Chelsea Manning from prison on March 12th, the news was met with relatively little fanfare. There was a kind of muted, matter-of-factness about it in the mainstream press, with much of the print devoted to procedural aspects of the release, or the fact that Ms. Manning allegedly tried to kill herself the day before, based on her lawyers’ testimony. →

”The fate of Julian #Assange will soon be decided, as he prepares to fight for his freedom in a landmark extradition hearing in London. The US wants to get its hands on the #WikiLeaks founder in what the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture called ”the collective persecution” by a group of ”democratic” states. If convicted, Assange could face decades in a US jail. In April 2019, Julian Assange was dragged out of the Ecuadorian embassy and sent to Belmarsh Prison for breaching his bail terms. →

This is a speech I gave yesterday at a demonstration for Assange with the Socialist Equality Party Australia.
Tomorrow in the UK a judge will start the process of answering a very important question. It’s a question that many of us knew was the heart of this debate back in 2010, ten years ago, when this all started. It’s a question that they have been obfuscating, bloviating, huffily denying, smearing, gaslighting, and distracting from–basically doing anything they can to hide it from view.
It’s a question that they don’t want the public to know that we are answering. A question that goes to the heart of democracy, and to the heart of the role of the fourth estate, journalism. And that question is this:
Should journalists and publishers be punished for exposing US war crimes? →
