(VAKEN.se) Tidskriften JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) öppnade under några år runt sekelskiftet sina spalter för artiklar som granskade hur pass farlig den gängse medicineringen inom den amerikanska sjukvården var. I två mycket noggranna studier kunde man fastslå att såväl kostnaderna som riskerna för patienterna med den beprövade medicinförskrivningen var mycket stor. I den ena, större meta-analysen slår man till och med fast att biverkningarna av medicinering är den fjärde till sjätte största dödsorsaken i USA. Och då gäller detta enbart biverkningar av rekommenderad medicin. Överdosering, felaktig utskriven medicin eller andra misstag är då inte medräknade! Dessa siffror borde också gälla för Sverige – åtminstone så länge svenska myndigheter missbrukar sitt uppdrag från riksdag att kontrollera den egna verksamheten. I Sverige vet vi enbart att underrapporteringen av biverkningar är mycket stor, vilket gör att den officiella statistiken är helt missvisande. →
