Lucas Krauss has congenital microcephaly, epilepsy, delayed motor and mental development, multiple muscular atrophy and numerous related pathologies.

What do these children have in common? Their fathers, all farmers working in Latin America, were exposed to agricultural pesticides that likely damaged their DNA, increasing the risk of cancer, birth defects and neurological disorders in the children they later fathered.

They also have this in common: Their mothers are fighting for justice for their kids. →

(Prepare For Change)  On Sunday, November the 10th, at approximately 4pm (eastern standard time) the democratically elected president and vice president of Bolivia, Evo Morales and Álvaro García respectively, were forced to resign from power. This was no voluntary resignation as CNN, the New York Times and the rest of the corporate media is reporting, nor has it been accepted by the Legislative Assembly as required by the Constitution of Bolivia.[1] This was a coup that employed threats and brutality against Morales, García, members of the cabinet, congressional representatives, and their families. Both the commander in chief of the military and head of the Bolivian Police requested, in no uncertain terms, the resignation of Morales.[2] The coup forces, led by Pro-Santa Cruz Committee president Luis Fernando Camacho, continues to target Movement for Socialism (MAS) activists, progressive social movements, and Indigenous peoples of Bolivia. →

Peru has vowed to put an end to palm oil-driven deforestation by 2021, according to reports, in a move that is being hailed as a “momentous win” for wildlife and sustainable agriculture by conservationist group the National Wildlife Federation (NWF).
The Andean nation joins Colombia in its pledge to produce the oil without deforestation. Palm oil cultivation has been a booming crop across Latin America, but has also been one of the foremost drivers of deforestation in rural regions. →

Miss Peru Contestants List Violence Against Women Statistics Instead Of Their Bra Size (Video) – November 3, 2017

Miss Peru contestants have used the competition to highlight the plight of women and girls in their country, where gender-based violence goes largely unpunished.

And on Sunday, during the beauty event, they staged an awesome protest.

 

As you’re probably aware, contestants at these beauty pageants are required to give out their body measurements (bust-waist-hip) while introducing themselves. In one segment, the women – who represent different areas of the South American country – stand forward and imply they’re going to do just that.

But instead of giving these numbers, they all gave different facts concerning femicide and female violence in their country.
