First, they voted unanimously to approve a resolution that would call on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to conduct studies regarding the health risks of 5G technology. Then, in a seemingly contradictory 4 to 1 vote, they approved a 10-year franchise for AT&T to operate in the city. AT&T is one of many corporations working to build a 5G network in Portland.
