This week a technology startup called Unacast launched a new app called “Social Distancing Scoreboard,” which tracks the GPS location of smartphones and grades geographical regions, such as a town, county, and or even a state, on how well residents in those areas are abiding by the government-enforced social distancing rules. The app creates an index, ranked from A to F, for whether people are staying home or not. →

(Humans Are Free) A top Chinese official has been heckled by residents as she inspected the work of a neighbourhood committee tasked with taking care of residents quarantined because of coronavirus.
Vice-premier Sun Chunlan toured a residential community in the Qingshan district of Wuhan on Thursday while residents shouted ‘fake, fake’ as well as ‘it’s all fake’ and ‘we protest’ from their apartment windows.
Since 12 February, all residential compounds in Wuhan have been put under lockdown, barring most residents from leaving their homes. →

(Humans Are Free) MIT scientist Shiva Ayyadurai claims that coronavirus “fear mongering” is a “Deep State fraud” to manipulate financial markets.
Ayyadurai, who is noted for his controversial claim to be the “inventor of email,” has a PhD in Biological Engineering and is running as a Republican in the 2020 U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts.
Responding to President Donald Trump’s claim that Democrats and the media are responsible for inflaming the coronavirus scare “far beyond what the facts would warrant,” Ayyadurai agreed that the panic was being overblown for political and economic reasons. →

With an increase of surveillance like real-time facial recognition technology throughout the city of London, and the U.S. also implementing the tech among other biometrics in the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, as well as apps like Amazon’s Ring and smart devices, there needs to be a way to watch the watchers. →
