Saudi Attacks on Yemen’s Farmers are Pushing the Whole Country into Famine — Covert Geopolitics – November 2, 2019

(Covert Geopolitics)  ODEIDA, YEMEN — The country of Yemen, known in the medieval period as “Green Yemen,” is one of the most extensively terraced areas of the world. There, Yemeni farmers transformed rugged mountain slopes into terraces and built dams like the Great Marib, a structure whose history spans long enough that it was mentioned in the Quran. During the medieval period, Yemen had one of the widest ranges of agricultural crops in all of the Middle East. →

Corruption in Disaster Relief – September 8, 2019

(Golden Age of Gaia)

Most of these articles do not name names. We never see words like “deep state” or “illuminati” mentioned. And yet they divert funds on a massive scale from disaster relief.

For instance, we now know that funds given to the Presidents Fund and the Clinton Foundation never reached aid recipients on the ground. (1)

What is the scope of the problem of corruption in disaster relief and how can it be met? Here are some excerpts from articles commenting on the problem.

UN Sent 24,000 Tons of Infested and Rotten “Aid” to Starving Yemenis — The Anti-Media – June 28, 2019

Written by Randi Nord

(GPA— Since 2015, Yemen’s Customs and Consumer Protection has had to either send back or seize over 24,000 tons of aid determined unfit for consumption sent from the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). Among the “aid” included 15,000 tons of supplementary food for pregnant women and medicine.

On November 6, Yemen’s Port Authority rejected and sent back a vessel from the World Food Program containing 10,000 tons of white wheat. After inspection, authorities noticed the wheat was infested with live insects. A similar incident occurred in February when authorities inspected a WFP shipment containing 96,000 bags wheat was not stamped with an expiration or production date.

Another particularly notable incident took place in May of 2019. At this time, Yemeni authorities found dead insects inside 8 million kilograms of wheat. Throughout June, authorities were forced to reject nearly 130,000 bags of white beans that were either wet, rotten, or infested with dead insects.

Using data compiled by the UN, Save the Children calculated in a Tuesday report the mortality rate for untreated cases of Severe Acute Malnutrition among Yemeni kids between April 2015 and October 2018.

“We are horrified that some 85,000 children in Yemen may have died because of extreme hunger since the war began. For every child killed by bombs and bullets, dozens are starving to death and it’s entirely preventable,” said Tamer Kirolos, the aid group’s Yemen director……..Read more:  PressTV.com
